So I’m laying in bed with my boyfriend just waking up and he’s laying next to me peacefully on his side. I’m watching him breathe slowly, his chest visibly heaving up and down with his arms crossed over. I glance over to his neck to see if i can see his pulse but he is breathing too hard for me to see or the lack of my glasses made it too hard. At this point I am dying to hear his heartbeat but his arms are still folded across his chest. I slowly move my hand underneath his arms to place on top of his chest and begin to feel his steady breathing under my hand. My heartbeat started to rise at about 80bpm as I was just waking up. The feeling of him alive is magical to me. Then he actually turned around and laid on his back and i just thought to myself if you move to his chest real quietly he wont move so i did and there it was.. The soft, gentle thudding of his heartbeat. It was slow, probably around 60bpm and soft and i felt like i was laying there for a really long time. It was so calming and so moving to me to know that the person i love so much was alive and well i felt it underneath my ear and managed to hear it in 2 different spots just gently thudding away it was amazing. My heartbeat slowed right down to match his and i felt myself falling in and out of sleep until eventually he slowly rolled back over to his side. What a beautiful moment ♡
